Mason’s Musings September 8th, 2023

Third time’s the charm, maybe just maybe next week will be the Fall turning point, and if it isn’t you’ll be seeing me in swim trunks. All jokes aside, I feel like this has been one of the longest summers ever. I’m ready to start seeing crunchy leaves on the side of the road. Along with their vibrant oranges, yellows, and purples, one can stand looking at the same green leaves for only so long. Enough complaining from me and onto some news.

A reminder to all patrons, last week I announced that our website has been updated with a new FREE database available to all library card holders to access. This database –Transparent Language – offers free language classes for over 124 different languages, as well as many other resources. Please feel free to play around with it, and bring up any question or concerns with your librarians.

In some other news Children’s Hour is finally back! I’m sure all our patrons with kiddos missed Ms. Katie’s energetic story times and fun-filled crafts. But now she’s back in action and can’t wait to see everyone again! Children’s Hour happens every Wednesday at 10 AM.

The community quilt from this years Summer Reading Program has been presented to city council. As soon as we have a space cleared (and some taller ladders) it will be hung up in the library for everyone to admire!

Well, that’s all this time in the way of news, next week is looking promising temperature-wise but I’ve said that about the past two weeks as well. Guess my intuition is not as strong as I think it is. I hope you all have a great weekend and continue wishing for cooler weather along with me.
