February has come and gone and March is officially MARCH-ing along. Sorry, sorry, bad pun. I’m sure you’d much rather be finding out what fun events we’re going to be hosting this month! And rest assured we’ll get to that but first we have some housekeeping items to get out of the way. March is Women’s History Month – and with that brings yet another beautiful display of books and movies all about the strong and powerful women that have impacted our lives. Be sure to check it out in appreciation of all that women have overcome.
Next is a reminder to all patrons that the library has a Book Club! For those who aren’t aware Librarian Katrina hosts a Book Club every second Thursday of each month. Anyone is welcome to join and our list of books for each month can be seen at the front desk or on our Book Club display. And lastly, some good news for those who frequent our transit system. Apollo should now allow you to place holds from other libraries. If this is not the case, please do not hesitate to reach out to us for help.
Although we’re not quite there in terms of that nice Spring weather I was hoping for, I am welcoming March with open arms and I’m excited for all it has to offer! Wishing all of our patrons a happy and healthy Spring season!
Library Events 3/4 – 3/11:
Saturday March 4th – Drop by any time 11:00 AM-1:00 PM every first Saturday of the month and have fun creating our themed crafts! This month’s craft is a spring paper mosaic!
Wednesday March 8th – Children’s Hour with Ms. Katie! Bring the little ones for story-time with Ms. Katie. Stories, songs, activities, and crafts are all part of the fun. Children’s Hour starts at 10:00 AM and occurs every Wednesday of each month (excluding January and August).
Thursday March 9th – Book Club with Librarian Katrina! Come down for a friendly discussion and dissection of this month’s book, “The Personal Librarian” by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray. Book Club starts at 6:00 PM every second Thursday of each month.
Upcoming Special Events:
Friday March 17th – Movie Magic. We have a very special event lined up for teens. Learn how to make your very own stop-motion animation short movie. All supplies will be provided by the library so that you can experiment to your heart’s content. The Movie Magic event starts at 3 PM and by the end of it you’ll have your own sharable mini movie!
