Summer Reading Program 2023
Program Overview
Summer Reading Program 2023 is coming in June and July! The theme for this summer is "All Together Now", with a focus on Kindness, Friendship, and Unity.
We will be using ReadSquared to manage participation. With ReadSquared, you can log your reading, earn badges, be entered into prize drawings, play mini-games, and complete missions.

Summer Reading Program is open to all ages, birth to adult. Register for the program that fits your age group: Pre-K (0-5), Children (5-12), Teen (12-18), or Adult (18-19+). All ages are eligible to earn entries into our weekly mini-prize drawings and into our end of program grand prize drawings.

Get Ready for Fun Events!

We love to see you reading, but Summer Reading Program at Krum Public Library is always packed with events and activities for everyone. You can expect story-time programs for the kids, book clubs and craft events for the adults, and special performers.

Weekly Schedule
Drop-in Steam
Tuesdays 11 AM-2 PM
A come-and-go event to give kids of all ages a chance to do an independent craft or Science activity. All supplies and instructions will be provided in the KPL meeting room.

Evenings at the Library
Select Thursdays at 6 PM
Expand your horizons with Evenings at the Library. Learn about gardening, cake decorating, or cheese or paint a picture or participate in a game or trivia night. Most evening programs have limited space and require preregistration. See the calendar for program dates and details.
Children's Hour
Wednesdays 10-11 AM
Join Mrs. Katie each week for stories, songs, movement, and crafts. Children's Hour is geared for ages birth to 5, but all are welcome.

TNT Time
Fridays 1-2PM
Tweens and Teens (ages 10+) join us on Fridays for a fun hour made just for you. Learn ASL, make a stop-motion video, play a life-sized board game and more! We do ask that this program be limited to tweens and teens to give this great age group a space of their own.
Tales with Teachers
Wednesdays 1-2 PM
Krum ISD Teachers will be reading storybooks to children. Program is geared to school-aged children, but all are welcome!

Saturday Programs
Saturdays 10:30-11:30 AM

Hooray For the USA!
Thursday, June 8 at 11 AM
An epic puppet show bursting with pride in the good Old USA featuring Margaret Clauder as Patriotic Patty.

Dragon's Library Sleepover and Storytimes
June 16-17
Kids can join Mrs. Katie for a pajama storytime at 6:30 on Friday. Then your stuffed animal can have a sleepover with the Library Dragon. On Saturday, pick up your stuffed friend and join Mr. Jesse for a special Saturday Storytime at 10:30.
Blackland Raptors

Meet North Texas birds of Prey in person. Blackland Prairie Raptor Center introduces us to hawks, owls, and falcons.

Coloring Mural
Anytime
Come help us color our giant coloring page! Crayons will be available anytime for some relaxing coloring on our mural that measures 30 inches by 42 inches.

Professor Branius

A hilarious and engaging show full of weird and wacky science experiments designed for kids.

Library Quilt Project
anytime
Each week we will setup a small themed project, such as painting, sewing, or other technique. To participate, stop by during library hours and follow the instructions for the week. At the end of the summer Staff will make the project pieces into a Library Quilt.
