Summer Reading Program 2021
Program Overview
The 2021 Summer Reading Program was a hybrid program with both in-person and virtual programming. The theme was Tails and Tales so we had lots of animal stories and crafts. We had weekly drop-in crafts and STEM activities and virtual storytime programs. KPL also hosted virtual book clubs and in-person movies at the library, as well as an adult painting class. At home activities included scavenger hunts, fitness challenges, and more. Once again, we used ReadSquared to track participation, award badges, and complete missions.
Every 100 points earned through reading and completing activities earned participants a Level Badge in ReadSquared. Each Level Badge earned an entry into a weekly prize drawing and into the grand prize drawings at the end of the program. Weekly prizes included a choice of toys, books, art supplies, travel coffee mugs, and more. KPL's Summer Reading Programs are always open to all ages birth to adult. Prize drawings are held for each age group (birth to preschool, elementary, teen, adult). As seen in the infographic below, we had great participation! Join us for more Summer Reading fun next summer!
