Services Available at the  Library

North Texas Library Consortium (NTLC)

Collection and Checkout

The Krum Public Library is proud to be a part of the North Texas Library Consortium. NTLC is a group of area libraries that have partnered to coordinate activities, share resources, and combine expertise. This gives our patrons access to a significantly larger catalog and the convenience of being able to check out and return items at any of the participating NTLC libraries.

Interlibrary Loan

Collection and Checkout

In addition to being a member of the North Texas Library Consortium (NTLC), we participate in the state Interlibrary Loan (ILL) program, which allows Krum Public Library card holders access to books that are not available from the Consortium’s collection.

We will accept and process ILL requests for NTLC card members 17 years of age and older that have a current account in good standing and have been a patron for at least one year. Patrons with fines or overdue materials cannot request ILL books.

Cardholders are responsible for fines and fees for overdue, lost, or damaged ILL items. Any items that are lost or damaged will be assessed a fee equal to the replacement cost plus a processing fee.

TexShare Card Program

Collection and Checkout

TexShare is a cooperative program designed to improve library service to Texans. The TexShare card allows patrons to visit more than 500 libraries throughout the state of Texas and check out materials.

Patrons must have a NTLC full privilege card for at least six months with no outstanding balance in order to be eligible for a TexShare card. Patrons who are issued a Krum TexShare card may take that card to obtain a library card at another TexShare participating library, and are responsible for returning items borrowed to the lending library. Click here for a list of libraries participating in the TexShare Card Program. Click here for Krum Public Library's information and TexShare lending policy.

Book Bundle

Collection and Checkout

Are you or is someone in your family a voracious reader? Are you drawing a blank about what books to reserve? Answer a few questions about your preferences, and allow our librarians to put together a book bundle for you! The more information you share with us, the better we can choose books that you'll love.

Make sure you submit the form, and you're done! We'll email you when your bundle is ready to pick up. Open the Book Bundle Request Form.

Curbside

Collection and Checkout

If for any reason you need or want to remain in your car and have your holds brought out to you, please give us a call (940-482-3455) from the parking lot to request curbside pickup. A librarian will checkout the items you have on hold and bring them out to your car.

Public Computers

Technology

The Krum Public Library has six public desktop computers that are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each computer has been set up with the following software: Windows 10, Microsoft Office 2016, Google Chrome, Firefox, and Adobe Reader.

To use a computer:

  • NTLC library cardholders can log in with their card number as the Patron ID and last name as the password.

  • If you do not have a library card, ask a librarian for a single-use guest pass.

WiFi

Technology

Free, wireless internet access is available for use on your own device while at the library. The network name and password are posted throughout the library. Wifi can also be accessed in the parking lot, if needed while the library is closed.

Print and Copy

Technology

Patrons may print using the library's public computers. The library provides black & white and color print and copy services on letter or legal paper. Prints/copies are 20¢ per page (a double-sided page counts as two copies). We are only able to accept cash payments.

Scan

Technology

We are set up for patrons to scan documents and photos to a USB dirve. Once scanned, items can be opened on one of our public computers and emailed to the address of patron's choosing. The scanner is a flatbed scanner that can accommodate up to letter (8.5"x11") or legal (8.5"x14") size items.  Scanning services are provided free of charge.

Fax

Technology

Faxes can be sent or received for a small fee of $1 per page, cash only. Cover sheets are available at the main circulation desk for no additional charge. Our fax number is (940) 482-0088.
